SGT John Kreman
3-4 ADA, 82nd Airborne · United States Army · 1988–
SGT John Kreman sat down with me for Heroes I Know. Sixty minutes. 82nd Airborne. Tales from his time.
He signed up specifically for airborne school. He always loved those silver wings. He wanted them on his uniform. Late August 1988. AIT was long. Eighteen weeks. 63 Bravo. Light wheeled vehicle mechanic. Anything five-ton and below.
Bravo Battery. First Sergeant Hilton. If you did not know how to shine a pair of boots when you got there you learned. You did not want the ones that looked like you shined them with a Snickers bar.
Two sisters and a brother. Brother a twelve-year Army veteran. Youngest sister an eight-year Air Force officer. Four siblings. Service ran through the house. Thank you, John. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
