CSM (R) Paris Williams

CSM (R) Paris Williams sat down with me for Heroes I Know. Fifty-seven minutes. Paratrooper. Leadership. Family. He goes through some great names.

Outside St. Louis. Right off the Mississippi. Hunting and fishing. Eighteen and no idea. Took the ASVAB. Recruiter. He was always the smallest. Five-foot-five. A hundred pounds. More than half his career in light infantry and airborne anyway. He had to work that much harder.

3-4. A bond between paratroopers he never felt anywhere else. Sergeant Shark. That is where it began. Sergeant Majors Academy. Wife at Forty-two. He had come home ready to retire. Then he kept going.

Thank you, Sergeant Major. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
