COL (R) Lorenzo Mack

COL (R) Lorenzo Mack sat down with me for Heroes I Know. Sixty-four minutes. Airborne leadership and so much more. Cobra Six out.

Alabama. Lives in Huntsville now. Grew up in the state. Last assignment Redstone. The CG called and said I want you to come do a job for me. Mack did not know what they had there. It grew up around him.

He was my XO when I joined in 1987. Bravo Battery. First Sergeant King. Then Hilton. Quartermaster as an enlisted man first. Weekend drills in college. He listed air defense. Field artillery. Then he was ours.

Saudi into southern Iraq. No GPS. They had LORAN. He left that battery across the berm. Stinger. Redeye. Jumpmaster. Senior wings the same day Allen got pinned.

Grandkids now. He knew when he retired he was not moving unless he could move two families. Thank you, sir. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
