1SG (R) Ben Williams

1SG (R) Ben Williams sat down with me for Heroes I Know. Seventy-one minutes. Elkhart, Indiana. RV capital of the world.

He sat me down for my interview. Ben Williams. That is how this whole thing has a tape with my name on it. I do not forget that.

Brand new. Great PT sweats. Him and the first sergeant the only ones in them. He stood out like a sore thumb and he kept standing there. Airborne. He loved jumping. Fire jump, as they say. He got lucky.

Korea. Then Shariki, Japan. 2008. I was headed to Hood. Dad had been in real estate in middle school. Ben still tells it like a man who left a small place and did not look back. Thank you, Top. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
