Stanley Demetrius Jackson

Stanley Demetrius Jackson sat down with me for Heroes I Know.

We were driving Dothan. Craig was with us. Lunch. The old airport. Water World. I dropped him at the library. That is the tape.

Born September 13, 1967. New York City. Stanley Demetrius Walker then. 1992 or 1993 he took his biological father's name. Jackson.

Self-sufficient since he was young. Observant. He does not want peer pressure to shape him. He thinks about Jesus every day. The parables. Shadrach in the furnace. Steadfast. The Golden Rule. He has been at the Harbor downtown. People with hard issues. He wants them to see what that life can do.

He uses affirmations. The strongest one he said is I love love. Most people say take the high road and mean walk away. He will not walk away. He will smile. How are you doing. He looks at a person and thinks they were a baby once. He sat in front of the library and got goosebumps watching kids. Innocent. That was all of us.

Neville Goddard. Napoleon Hill. Think and Grow Rich. Imagination first. He said you will be rich before you are rich. Inward work. People do not have time on a nine-to-five. He would teach in small portions. A meal. Not the whole plate.

He was baptized a Jehovah's Witness. He stopped going. He is still faithful. Breath work. Energy. Presence. He wants to be around people more because presence changes a room.

Craig wanted to connect with him. Help if help was needed. Stanley said thank you. We hugged it out. His spirit hit me. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
