SFC (R) Ryan Vanschoonhoven

SFC (R) Ryan Vanschoonhoven sat down with me for Heroes Live. Fifty-eight minutes. I miss that face.

South Dakota. No cities, he says. Street lights and bicycles. He turned nineteen after a little trouble. Drinking. Other things. Community service before they would let him in. Small town. The Army recruiter came and spoke for him. He signed up.

SHORAD first sergeant is one animal. Patriot first sergeant is another. He says in Patriot he has no job. He does not even need to yell at anybody. Completely different than the short-range fight.

Thank you, Ryan. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
