Joseph Redman
14 Tango · United States Army · 2004–2010

Sergeant Joseph Redman sat down with me for Heroes Live.
Clemson, South Carolina now. Born 1983. Fort Worth, Texas. He ran the streets. Right-hand man. Not the boss.
Joyride in a friend's car. Blue lights. They killed it in a random driveway. Cop flew by. Threw the keys at the window at 2 a.m. Speeding tickets. His best friend went to jail every time. He did not.
MEPS. He was high. Three choices. 14 Tango. Cav Scout. Laundry. Recruiter was a Juliet. Go 14 Tango. Gone in two weeks. 2004. Height of the war. Fort Knox. Then Bliss.
Korea. Smoke in a tent. Diesel heater. He got people out. Fort Hood. First Sergeant Williams came from the tankers. They stole his old motto and used it in formation until he made them do it again. Then Germany. Out in 2010. Six years. Sergeant.
First person he met was Sergeant Wear Brinkman. Still talks to him. Four or five of them live within a two-hour drive now.
Daughter is Briana. They do CrossFit together. Jeep. Shooting. Cars. Keep going. That is what he wants her to hear in twenty years. Squad attention. Sergeant Redman signing out. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
