COL (R) Kevin Kick
Air Defense · Colorado Guard · United States Army · 1980s–2010s
COL (R) Kevin Kick sat down with me for Heroes I Know. Seventy-four minutes. WMD. Rescues. Missile defense.
Born 1968. Grew up Pittsburgh. Denver now. Enlisted first. Loved it. Watched our generation start to get sick and decided the stories had to get on tape.
Lieutenant Kick. A note that said let Lieutenant Kick use this. He tied the colonel's gear, took it back to the driver, made sure it got home. WMD response later. His soldiers found him on a wall. Is that you, sir.
Colorado Guard. Aerial search and rescue. Only the Coast Guard does more of that in this country. People stuck in the mountains. He was told when he switched to the Guard that the 100th Missile Defense Brigade technology would never work. Do not jump into it. He still tells that story.
Thank you, sir. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
