C. Diane Hawkins

United States Army

C. Diane Hawkins sat down with me for Heroes Live.

The Hawk stalkers were in the house. She is a hero of mine. We met around a poker table. If the game does not mean anything you can have a good time. That is what we did.

Born in 57. Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Dad was a Yankee. Mom was a Southerner. First ten years in Pennsylvania. Then Florida. St. Petersburg. South Miami. Hollywood. That is the place she called home. Orlando now. Thirty-eight years.

Five brothers. Donnie. Charles. Michael. Sammy. Robert. Donnie is Navy. A living legend on that guitar. Charles retired Air Force. Robert was Army. Comedian. Worked with Ron White. The Titus show. Talent runs through that house.

She was E4 sergeant. Air Force. Last six months. She does not even remember being called Sergeant Hawkins. No power trip. Telecommunication control. Patrick. Torrejon. Squadron 10 when she signed out.

Guitar. She wrote Don't Sing Along. She made a video called In Between Songs. Circa 2008. Her only blues song. The action is between the songs. That is her sense of humor.

She got laid off. Paid COBRA. Made under ten thousand that year. That is how she got into the VA. They did her eyes. Cataracts. Brand new eyes. She loves the VA.

She said it is all of it. If this did not happen she would not be this. You cannot ask why me. It becomes evident later. Squadron 10. See you later. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
