Ben Goldsmith

Ben Goldsmith sat down with me for Heroes I Know. Seventy minutes. Comedy genius. Early years. The cast of characters around him.

Born Los Angeles. Bounced. Marina del Rey. Studio City. Found La Canada. He grew up obese, he says. Bullied. Comedy was the defense. Make fun of himself first so they could not. Disarm them.

I have been watching Dumb Owl. I told him I am his biggest fan. He used to feel lonely, sad, mad, angry, depressed, lazy, scared. He said it out loud. That is the work.

Thank you, Ben. That is why we hit record. Get the story on tape before we are too old or too sick to tell it.
